new politics for a new generation

The majority of Generation Z express strong interest in civic participation and politics, yet historically, young people have low voter engagement. Generation Z is the most diverse generation in America, yet is not represented by current elected officials.

The GAP Project is a data-driven, grassroots consortium connecting Generation Z with political campaigns on the local, state, and national level. We have developed an intuitive quiz for students and campaigns that assess each personal values and political stances and creates a match based upon our algorithm.

The GAP Project places young people as volunteers on political campaigns of all kinds across the United States. The GAP Project mobilizes Generation Z to engage with the political system, take action to get their voices heard, and, most importantly, to vote. We are shaping a representative and equitable America, and providing Generation Z with a pipeline into politics.

what we do

we hear you.

Take the quiz and you tell us what you value and what issues you prioritize. Our algorithm assesses your answers and matches you with the candidate that most matches your values and interests.

we place you.

With just one click GAPers can get in contact with the candidate’s campaign that they align most closely with. We work with GAPers and campaigns to find the right role for each GAPer.

we support you.

We will be with you every step of the way. You support the candidates. We support you. GAPers will join a community of like minded young people and will form a lifelong network of friends and colleagues.

Caroline Blanck

Caroline graduated with honors from Brown University in 2019 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Economics. In spring 2020, Caroline received an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, where she focused on the politics and policy of urban sustainability. Caroline has experience working in politics, in policy and organizing, including her role as the deputy regional organizing director for Mike Bloomberg’s 2020 presidential campaign and her role as a climate policy advisor on other local campaigns.

Adrienne and Caroline developed The GAP Project out of a desire to provide young people with the opportunity to transform passion into productive political action. They hope that The GAP Project will provide a pipeline of support for historically underrepresented groups to overcome the barriers of entry into politics.
